I am working on an SR250 cafe. I found an XT400 engine for sale (complete). Any change this will bolt right in, no problems or issues what so ever? Anyone know what might be involved (mounting etc..)

Thanks,
Frank

Is your bike a SR or SRX? The SRX250 are a smaller frame ,wheels brakes ect than the SRX 400/600. I was going to put a TT600 engine in my SRX400(fits in easy as, ame pysical size) but ended up selling it instead. Check out thumpers? website. Theres heaps of 4 stroke (diesel lol) single info on there. Google it , im not sure of the correct web address. Good luck with your project, I see what other info i can find for you ;-)

It's an SR250, Yamaha version of the GN250. XT400 engine is a sleeved down Xt600, physically a lot bigger than the SR250. XT is also dry sump so you'd have to fabricate some sort of oil tank. Not really an easy project.

Depending on how much fuel is in the tank, that will make it burn that much longer. LS650 is the most hideous underpowered POS in existence, there can be no worse bike. Unless of course they made a smaller one.

Spit it out Dave say what you really mean. I'd rather have the SR by a long shot.
