Harley-Davidson has announced it will commence selling motorcycles in India. The company aims to find a place in the market – traditionally fuelled by small-capacity, cheap machines – with the fast-growing middle class.
Mark Levatich, H-D chief operating officer said "Given the rapid development of India's economy and physical infrastructure, this is exactly the right time to bring the world's greatest motorcycles to one of the world's largest motorcycling nations.”
A subsidiary has been opened in Delhi and work is underway to generate a dealer network.
