Saga – the UK company that specialises in providing services to the over-50s – is looking to extend its financial service sector to include motorcycle insurance.

According to Saga, 700,000 people in UK in the over-50 age group own at least one motorcycle and ‘have less to prove and are likely to travel at lower speeds’.

they obviously did not do their research here in NZ, that group of riders could be argued to be the worst, all egos on big bikes after 10 - 20 years of not riding. a recipie for carnage no matter how slow or what they ride :devil2:

To be honest, it did make me smile. I see some guys in Saga's age bracket most days - and they certainly don't hang around! That said, they're safer than a lot of younger riders, as they plan ahead much better and so ride much more smoothly.

But yeah, 'travel at lower speeds'? I don't think so!

:Oi:. Speak for yourself :bash::2guns::nono::argue::Pokey::Pokey::mad::girl fight::ar15:

I is obviosuly exactly the demographic they want.

Over 50 , Yep, own "at least" one motorcycle, Yep, Nothing to prove , Yep and as everyone knows I only travel extremely slowly.

Perfect. They should pay me for the priviledge of insuring me.

*crosses arms and puts on serious face*
You go to your room, young man. We do not need to put up with that sort of disrespect.
Harumph!

Quite so. The pot calling the kettle black.
Where are the statistics to prove that over 50s are the worst??
