Auckland University Motorcycle Club president Stephen Dodge said motorcyclists were unlikely to take the changes lying down. He said some people would risk the $400 fine for riding an unregistered bike, as getting caught twice a year would be about equal to the cost of registration.

Mr Dodge accepts larger bikes are over-represented in crash statistics, but doesn't believe that's because they have larger-capacity engines.

"A 650cc bike of mine produces less power and torque than several 400cc and even some 250cc bikes."

Apparently in the actual Harold there is a photo of him too, lol.

It's $200 each, one for no WOF, one for no REGO... I know from experience :weep:

according to the police website, its only $200, so 3 tickets a year and you're still ahead.

Thaeos
15th October 2009, 18:25
WEll some people have said you can get a wof without a rego and some have said you can't, i dont know either way because i just dont for some reason.

So the fine would either be 200 or 400

You need a WOF to get registration. But then your registration lapses after 12months and your vehicle gets de-registered = can't get a WOF.

Thought it took two years to lapse?

Sticking it on hold will fix that anyway.

It was kind of retarded, there was a little square on the front page too with pretty much exactly the same as what was in the first two paragraphs... Plus the quote from 'Mr Dodge'. I will try to scan that bit in tomorrow. Talk about awesome editing skills in this paper, and continuity... ><
