Honda is – according to the Nikkei business daily – to invest some 10 billion Yen (USD 109 million) to increase production at their Indonesian operation, following increased demand. The aim is to raise manufacture to 3.6 million units – a 20% increase.

Indonesia is reported to be Honda’s second-largest marketplace, after India – another region where sales figures have soared. Part-owned subsidiary Hero Honda has reported an increase in sales of 27% over last year.

Honda’s main rival, Bajaj, has also reported significant increases in profits, with sales figures 22% up on a year-to-year basis.
