Harley-Davidson would become the official motorcycle of the state of Wisconsin, if proposed legislation is passed.

According to Representative Leon Young, who proposed the bill “The long and storied history of Harley-Davidson in Wisconsin makes it appropriate to honour it with the distinction of being the official state motorcycle.”

Wisconsin does not have an official motorcycle, but does have an official song, insect, dog, dance, and tartan. Oddly, for the state known as the “Cheese State”, it does not appear to have an official cheese.

Why do they have to have an official anything?

It should be enough to have a flag, coat of arms and an emblem.
