I am just wondering if there is a correct way to adjust the throttle cables on a bike that has dual cables. I have been tightening the throttle on cable until there is no slack. Then I tighten the throttle-off (return) cable until the throttle just won't return by itself (i.e. it's too stiff). Then I loosen it off just a touch.

Is this the right way to go about this? Is there a correct way to go about this? My results seem to be a bit hit and miss. Right now it doesn't feel quite right but I struggle to really quantify that.

I adjust the throttle cables so that ,when slightly moving the twist grip (before the slack is taken up in either direction) the cables can be seen to have some slack at the carb end of the cables.
Check this with the steering at either lock to be sure the slack is there at both extremes.
