I'm trying to seperate the crankcase halves on a GSX400, apart from dynamite or an axe i'm running out of options!
Is there an easy way to accomplish this?

Walk away from it, have a cuppa then go back and have another look at it, you have missed a bolt somewhere. Not sure on those motors but Suzuki have a habit if putting one or two bolts in very hidden places, like underneath the starter motor, or behind the clutch. Make sure you have taken EVERYTHING off that is able to be removed, you will find another bolt somewhere.

Good advice from Robinm, the extra bolt in hiding is popular from other manufacturers too. Do you have a workshop manual to refer too?

I have seen pictures of a puller used to do that. But yeah, beware the last bolt, or you will break something for sure.

OK I'm embarressed, there is another bolt (isn't there always?) on the top side behind the starter motor, dirty Suzuki trick! All good now the halves seperated easy once that sucker was removed.
