View Full Version : Loctite coolant pipe into housing?

I have a water pump housing leaking at the tube pressed into the housing. It's just a tiny weep/drip.

I took the cover off, pulled the pipe out and cleaned it up, and reglued it with Loctite 604. It is supposed to be at 75% strength in one hour and then I planned to flush the remaining glue with a jet of water from the garden hose and then refit it.

Any suggestions before I just go ahead and do that? Post cure it some how?

Should I even fit it today at all? Leave to cure some more? Fit it and not run it up to temperature straight away?

TIA
Steve

Well I gave it a couple of hours, flushed it with hot water, scrubbed it out with detergent, and put it back in.

No leaks. Lets hope no loctite through the engine.

Two weeks later and it's still mint. Loctite works good.

What a weird thread - answering yourself and all that.
Obviously you could start your own biker forum with you as the sole member. Hey - you could be a mod!
Just hope you don't infract yourself too badly....

Oh - and congrats on the apparently successful fix it job. :niceone:
