TT 350 decompression lever help

just a quick question to find out before i start the job does anybody know if when you change the decomp. lever seal do you have to loosen the engine or does the actuator rod have enough room to come out while the engine is still fastened tightly.
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

loosen the engine?? at worse you'll have to take the rocker cover off, and for all the time it takes to pull the rocker cover off i would just do it,
i doubt you'll get the oil seal out with out having the cover off anyway
