View Full Version : Best place to buy new old Katana parts in NZ?

My pop up Katana is in a million bits and I have a parts list as long as my arm to order for it.

Where is the best place to order bits from in NZ? Most of the parts I need for the engine will need to be brand spankers. I'd prefer not to take my business overseas but I wont be letting the local Suzuki dealer rip me a new arsehole on new old spares.

Thank you in advance.

Not in NZ but www.suziparts.com.au specialise in NOS and their prices are not too bad. Very much doubt if you would find an equivalent in NZ

Cheers for the link. I just flicked off a list of bits to them so it will be interesting to see what they email me back with.

Any other places in NZ I should know about?

Don't forget your local dealer too. When i rebuilt my rear suspension, they had the shafts, spacers etc. for me within two weeks, and at prices that compared well with overseas.

I lied, it was 2 stickers. The red ones that say SUZUKI down the side of a Katana tank.

Well you can get any signwriter to reproduce those decals for a tenth of that price.

These ones - http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/album.php?albumid=2321&attachmentid=176858 - cost me about $20 and you can't tell them from the genuine article.

It depends entirely on what parts you need. Some parts have an aftermarket option available at usually considerably less than genuine parts but other parts you will be restricted to using the Suzuki item.

Aussie site again, but try Bert Kingston for gasket set (Athena brand). I've bought one for the GS1100 and one for an FZR1000 and the quality is very good, also very complete with the seals, o rings and so on http://www.bkperformance.com.au/ and they may have other bits for your kat as well

You should be able to see it now.

Send MSTRS a PM. He's in that line of work and should be able to help you out.
