View Full Version : New rings for an AG100?

How do I tell if it had oversized rings in the beginning? The old rings were poked from some turd running it without any from of air filter, letting the gravel road dust and beach air straight into the carb intake. Purchased new standard sized rings, but they seem to look smaller and fit looser as far as ring clearances go. Never rebuilt a 2 stroke, so it could just be me used to 4 stroke rings? Help a brother out if you can. If someone has the measurements for serviceable sizes for an AG100 that'd help too - only a farmbike so not after amazing performance, just reliability

Get the piston measured, and correspond that measurement with the oversized rings available.

& the piston will have a marking stamped on the top of it (under the carbon) saying 0.5 or 1.0 if it is oversize (or nothing if it is std).

It has 50 or possibly 5.0 stamped on the top of it, if that helps.

Yeah that does help somewhat, will be 0.5mm over which on a Yam is likely 2nd oversize. best measure the bore/piston isn't poked too from that abuse.
