My TL has always had a bit of a tappet-click sort of noise going on, and a few TL owners I have talked to said it is quite common and not much to worry about.
Not content to just put up with it, I pulled the head covers off and checked all valve clearances. They are all within their tolerances. I also reset the cam chain tensioners on both cylinders, following the instructions as set out in the Suzuki owners manual. A good thorough service while it was all apart and put her all back together. Still have a tappet click.
Any Ideas?

May be just a trait of the engine. I noticed this on my SV1000s even when I was still breaking it in.

There are plenty of TL specific user groups/websites out there, might pay to join one of those and ask the same question there.

Fwiw theres more to worry about when a TL stops the ticking.

My CBR1000 does it too.

How does the saying go ? A rattly tappet is a happy tappet. A little play (within tolerance) is better than being too tight.
