The Top 1 Ack Attack Streamliner, driven by Rocky Robinson, set a two-way speed of 360.913mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats last Friday. The Streamliner is powered by a modified Suzuki Hayabusa engine. This beats the 350.884mph speed set by Denis Manning’s Bub Racing team, which has stood since 2006. The record has yet to be ratified and will remain unofficial until the FIM meets in October.

Really officer? I could swear I was only going 105. I might have to get my speedo adjusted. :)

That is ridiculous, doing that kind of speed only centimetres from the ground.

I'd love more details on the machine.

There is a good article on the bike here (http://www.motorcycle.com/events/inside-rocky-robinsons-ack-attack-streamliner-87792.html). Has so far survived two 300+ mph crashes with no injuries (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y14k0SJOb5o) (!). Not bad from an estimated 1100 horsepower :shit:

The thing with salt racing is they only look like they're going fast once they crash. The reference points are so far away that your perception of speed is fuck all untill you see some poor bastard lose it, the the brain comprehends the sheer velocity involved and inwardly cringes.
