A 1929 Brough Superior has set a new record price for a motorcycle, as it sold for £286,000 (NZ$597,200) at a specialist auction held by auctioneers H&H.

The Brough – a spring frame SS100, 1000cc v-twin - beat the previous record set by a 1915 Cyclone board track racer, which sold for $551,200 in July 2008. At that time, Sterling was worth $1.98, making the Sterling value £278,400.

Now why didn't I buy one when I was 30 years younger...? Oh, that's right... they were out of my league back then, too! :bye: Love them!

The only vintage bike that gives me a hardon. Beautiful in every sense.
