California’s Scotts Valley Police Department has introduced an electric motorcycle to it’s fleet of vehicles. The Zero DS – which has a range of 50 miles – is intended primarily for street patrol, as it’s silent running makes it an ideal tool for quietly monitoring wrongdoers.

"The silent operation of the Zero DS allows each officer to hear what's going on around them, which enhances awareness and safety," Jay Friedland, Zero’s vice president of sustainability, said in a statement.

and this is the country that is looking a legislation to make electric cars have a noise;
A bill known as the Pedestrian Safety Enhancement Act, introduced last January, would “direct the Secretary of Transportation to study and establish a motor vehicle safety standard that provides for a means of alerting blind and other pedestrians of motor vehicle operation.” :weird:
