Hi all
I am not sure if either a) It should be touching the cam or
b) My gasket has shrunk and the tolerances are that fine that I should get a new gasket, and new cover.
It appears that the cover aids lubrication by either deflecting the oil onto the cam chain sprocket and chain by the feed coming from the cam. Or crudely it is designed to dribble oil into the cam splashed from the chain relying on centrifugal force to "suck" the oil through the cam. (Amazing if that worked...)
So yeah, I just need to know if it has happened on anyone, or on a similar set up to make me feel better.. hehe
The cover is not too worn, just a slight sharp burr on the edges of the surfaces were the cam shaft has touched :)
