Riccardo Russo crossed the line, holding a narrow lead over his nearest rival, in the Italian CIV championship at Mugello. He began his celebrations, letting off the throttle and raising his arm in triumph.

Just one problem… there was another lap left in the race!

There was this one time at Hampton Downs, where the race leader took his hand off the throttle 20 metres before the chequred flag to wave to his adoring fan & ended up coming second by .008 of a second.
He thought he had won, until the guy that had won, gate crashed his victory interview with TVNZ, with a results print out.
It was truly priceless.
