Is the SMC still alive? As in does it still exist? Looks like no one posts in here anymore. Must be all new faces in there now.

Yep! Many have either moved or stopped riding.
But a bunch of us are all living together and thus no need for a forum. The SMC flat lives on!

No riding...hmm so the scooter and motorcycle club is gone then, the uni friends living together in a flat club lives on! :laugh:

Well this is an interesting question....technically no as the club is still registered with AUSA. Practically, yes as when the last RFI was put out for executive members there was no response from anybody to take on any of the roles.

Bit of a quagmire that. I can't continue and if nobody wants to run it, then it will just die a partially unnatural death.

The question is, how can it be revived? If anyone has any ideas on how to drum up interest or find some people who want to run with it, let me know.

It took a a lot of peeps to keep it going when I was part of running it. Weekly get together, deals with bike shops, ACC funding for events, BRONZ help, plus organised rides - workshop days etc. All it needs is a few passionate uni bikers and scooterists.

A shame really as it was a blast.
