An inquest into the death of motorcycle racer and journalist Ian ‘Gus' Scott at the 2005 TT has returned an open verdict.
Scott was on the second lap of the Senior TT when he struck marshal April Bolster at White House Cottages, Kirk Michael, as she was crossing the course to speak to another rider. Both were killed in the collision. The court heard that Bolster “made a serious error of judgement” and that she had marshalled the course for several years.
