Hm bike fell over in carpark, only handle bars hit as far as im aware of but it wont rev past 10 easily so i dont take it past it
wondering whats causing this?
when the bikes idling there is a rattling sound, more of a rattle than a tick

Is your bike the Exup model & could the valve be broken?

i been reading on fzr250.com it says maybe cam belt?

Sure FZR250s have cam belts? Most 250 sportbikes don't, which is why they can rev so hard from what I know

Falling over shouldn't affect that. Perhaps you are only now noticing it as part of concern after it's topple??

Could you have banged the airbox out of place?

nah man i usually take it way past 10 and now it just wont go there
thats prob the problem.. ;)
i checked the airbox seems alright, gonna take it apart soon
any other things i can check?

does it run on all four cylinders all the time
if not then maybe you could have bumped a lead or maybe damaged a coil
do a spark test on each cylinder and see what happens

A vacuum slider may have become stuck - if you take the airbox off you should be able to see them. Check that they all move in and out freely.

sounds like something has come loose in the exhaust/muffler, dropped across the main pipe, and is not allowing a free exhaust flow at higher rpm.

How long did it spend "resting" in the carpark?

Have you push the vacuum sliders up? Do they drop back down by them selves?

might be 1 piece fom the headers. try banging the side of it with your hand - is there a rattle?

If you mean the rubber things yea, when bikes running it makes mean sucking noise so i think carb shit is all good
