Auctioneers Bonhams are selling the rights to use the Matchless trademark at the
Stafford Classic Motorcycle Show. Matchless produced the winner of the very first Isle of Man TT in 1907, when Charlie Collier rode one of the firm's single-cylinder models

The UK and EU rights to the following trademarks are being auctioned:

MATCHLESS word and device (EU) Winged device (EU) MATCHLESS word and device (UK) MATCHLESS word (UK) MATCHLESS LONDON words and device (UK) MATCHLESS device (UK) Winged M device (UK).

Estimate is £50,000-60,000.

Matchless - the worst motorcycle I ever owned.So who's going to buy it and put the flying M on a Chinese clone for a quick buck?

Nah! Too complicated, whack it onto a few tee shirts for a quick buck and flog it off again! More an AJS man meself!

Certainly can't see the famous flying M on a 900cc multi race rep despite their famous history.
