I think they mean information relating to the minibike-throwing-at-the-train-incident.

Oh I see, I was sure he wanted personal information about my place of residence etc when I lived in the UK back in the early 80's.
I must have read too much into it......silly me.
Seriously though, not much point posting UK shit like this on these forums, not a great deal of guys on KB are UK based, and Im sure the few that are, are probably many miles away from Shrewsbury.

But surely as consciencious bikers we all need to know what is happening all over the world, even if it is in now way remotely related to actual biking or bike culture??

What if you DID know who threw this mini motorbike? Wouldn't you sleep easier at night knowing you've done your bit to help the British Transport Police?

Or Ethel, at the end of Wilmslow Ave, whose great grandsons cousins uncle (in Plockton) had his bike knocked over by a drunk driver in a green ford escort rego F775KTT? Whilst he was in the pub with Morag the local tattoo artist?

Can't they afford concrete over there?

Have you ever worked as a scriptwriter for the soaps? Only your plotline sounds a lot better than most of the stuff we're getting at the moment

Keep up with plots like that and I reckon you've got a future in soaps over here in the UK!

Erm... noticed where the person that posts 95% of the content of this forum comes from? And I get the feeling that a lot more people from the UK (and other countries) are joining here.

So no UK stuff? Where do you draw the line? Cut out the US stuff? And what about stopping anything from Oz? Or anywhere outside NZ? Then hey, lets not talk about South Island... xenophobia is an easy road to walk down y'know!

But seriously, this forum has reported things involving bikes and biking since Day One... no matter where they come from. And people seem to like that.
Cut it down to NZ only and the content is going to be a lot smaller. I work part time compiling news for a publication - and the content there is mainly home-based news, but with a good proportion of overseas news. And that gives it a balance. Which I reckon is kind of important.

I shall now get back off my soap box for another day! :innocent:

Yeah Bob, well done for posting so much.
You still don't get it? Hardly anyone on here would know where Shrewsbury is, let alone which thug chucked a mini-bike at a train..... I mean its a minibike and pretty much not related to biking in general.
Perhaps if it was a supermotard said thug chucked, it would be news worthy :)

Bling duly awarded... fucken funny mate

Erm... noticed where the person that posts 95% of the content of this forum comes from? Yeah bloody Kiwis on KiwiBiker... bastards act like it their home turf. Who'd have guessed?

(To be fair - international interest is very welcome IMHO)

Agreed the international balance is important, but asking for help in resolving an issue which is in the immediate vicinity of ... 1, perhaps 2 KBers... at the absolute max...

If this was a thread hilighting something of interest (or funny or...) that'd make sense to me. But asking for help from a Kiwi site is a long shot, and I'd only expect either pisstake answers or suggestions like this post.

All a matter of context really...

And regarding the minibike incident, it just proves that the same thoughtless thuggery takes place on different sides of the world. Bob, I trust you read about the incident over here recently where a kid dropped a block of concrete from an overbridge which went through the windscreen of a car killing the young driver! Shocking behaviour.

To be honest, I should have taken out the "if you saw anything" bit for here. This stuff goes up elsewhere as well, where the "if you can help" bit is relevent. And if I'm honest I was in a bit of a rush and didn't think about deleting that. Guilty of it in the past, no doubt I'll be guilty of it again.

To me, whether it was Shrewsbury, Auckland or a minor satellite of the Crab Nebula (and I know where all three are, btw), it wouldn't matter. To me, the issue is whether it is an interesting/worrying/funny piece of news. And to me, this item fitted the bill.

And SimJen, I'm not after bragging points for posting so much, I'm just trying to point out that this forum is being used by a wider spread of people than NZ only these days.

From what I see in here, it seems like minibikes are as big a nuisance over there as they are here (and they're a sizable nuisance here), so do I think there is relevence? Yup, given comments made by other KBers, yes I do.

But Dover, I still liked your plotline!
