I have a problem with my current tensioner:
a. its been molested and had a 10mm nut welded onto the end of it.
b. it doesnt tension, ie the spring is naffed?
what problems may arise if I convert it to a manual tensioner? apart from the fact Ill need to keep it adjusted?
I figured if I add a long bolt to suit, i can adjust it along the thread which normally holds the 'cap bolt' onto the tensioner, and just have a locking nut of suitable size to seal it against the seat where the cap bolt used to sit?
anyone tried anything like this before?
cheers

seems so sensible when there are so many issues with tensioners. not sure if its just kawasaki tensioners with issues or not
