Two questions;

What kind of problems would I notice on my GPX250R if it had tight valves?

Any idea a rough cost a bike shop will charge for adjusting them?

Thanks!

From the ressess of my mind, I was quoted a sub $100 price last summer for my single cylinder four valve engine. Checked the gaps myself and found them to be within range so didn't end up taking it in.

Tight valves will eventually burn out giving low compression.

Like Flyingpony says as long as the head is reasonably accessible it shouldn't be much more than a couple of hrs work for a bike shop, even for your twin, so under $100.

Cheers

yeah I am a mechanic at a small shop in Wairoa, hawkes Bay (read: hick town) and we charge out at $55 per hr. Bigger shops in more highly populaced areas will charge more. (or less)

so yeah.
