Threats to the future of the TT should not be used against the introduction of a national speed limit on the Isle of Man, said Tourism and Leisure Minister David Cretney.

Mr Cretney said he remains opposed to restrictions on all roads, but hit out at those who feel limits would put off TT visitors “I don't think that should be a key argument” he said “I have never encouraged people to come to the Isle of Man to drive or ride at excessive speed. My problem is with these people who drive and ride in a dangerous or reckless manner,' he added. 'We should be targeting them, whether they are here for the TT or at any time.'
