Golden retriever Darcy loves leaping on the back of his owner’s bike and going out with her as she goes about her daily business. He goes to work about once a week with courier Hollie Edwards and is completely at home on the back of her motorbike.
"Whenever we stop for a pick-up or delivery, he gets pats from people going past," Ms Edwards said. The main reaction is laughter . . . but I have seen a whole tram of people start smiling when he has gone past."
Ms Edwards said she started taking Darcy to work because she couldn't bear leaving him at her North Balwyn home on his own on a sunny day "Every so often my partner works day shift and I work day shift so Darcy would be home alone," Ms Edwards said.
