Police officers on Tyneside are turning Easy Riders after taking delivery of a Harley-Davidson V-Rod for the second year running. The bike, on loan to Northumbria Police for the summer, will be used on general patrols and in the Weekender scheme which promotes safe motorbike riding.

Chief Superintendent Bob Pattison, from Northumbria Police Operations Department, said "It was of great benefit in helping us to engage with the motorcycle community".
