Hi all,

Was just wondering, where is the mixture screw (or whatever it is) is on the CBR250R?

My bike smells abit rich, donno if it's a leak or mixture.

cheers :niceone:

The mixture screws are on the carbs. Don't play with that. For a start it only adjusts the idle mixture (and first 1/8 or so of throttle). Secondly, you have four carbs, and it's a fiddly job at the best of time but then you have to get all four carbs doing the same thing.

A bit rich won't hurt. Is there black smoke coming out the exhausts? What do the plugs look like? Smell of fuel could be lots of things, overfilling the tank, slightly leaky fuel tap. If the bike runs like normal then it's probably fine.

It seems to run ok, just abit smelly sometimes. No black smoke etc.

Have you checked the fuel line/petcock for leaks? Or for leaks in the tank itself?

If it is a small leak it will still stink of fuel but may be hard to spot as the fuel evaporates pretty quickly especially if everything is warm.

it may be the float valves beiginning to leak: especially if its an old bike and they havent been replaced. If they are leaking it will also affect the bikes idling chracteristics
