Auck Racing Mt Wellington 14th July

Hi everyone,

We will be having TVNZ at the meet. They are filming for a kids programme called 'Lets Get Inventin'

This is a good time to promote our sport.

Racing will be the same as usual.
Sign on 8.30am
$20 for the day, for non AMCC/MNZ members.
$10 for AMCC members.

Full safety gear needed.

Holy crap. I just realised I own a bike which might be raceable in your classes. It's a new NXR125 farm/commuter bike 4 stroke(top speed about 110). It handles surprisingly well but only has drum brakes. Can you give me an overview of your rules? Or point me in the right direction of where to look. I usually race supersport and superbike, but I'm sure I would get as much enjoyment out of that kind of racing.

I'll be there with bells on lol got to run the Duke up for the north island meet so this will be the last chance on a track before them.

Depends on who turns up and what bikes are there.

It's just as easy to go get a $200 bike and your racing.

If you bring your bike down to the track, we will give you a go by yourself for a few laps.
You will need to tape up your lights. Wear your leathers.
If your keen to ride after that you can have a go in with the buckets.
Thats road registered bikes, 4stroke, up to 150cc or 2stroke, up to 125cc. Bikes cannot be race or trail bikes. They must have been or are road registered.
If you look on the MNZ website you can find all the spec's there.

Hay there Mr Duck If you show up with some protective gear you could try getting on one of my bikes.. I'm not to hard to find look for the two red/white pocket bikes that look like Ducati's :rockon:

Mt Wellington Go-Kart Track.
Tainui Rd, off Morrin rd.
Go off mway at Mt Wgtn. Follow past Sylvia Park, right to the end. Moyes Cars should be in front of you. Turn right, stay in left hand lane, follow through to the Panmure round-about. Take the second road on your left,as you go into the round-about. The Mobil gas station should be on your left. At the next set of lights turn left into Morrin Rd. Tainui Rd is on the right hand side, about 1km along Morrin. Take the first gravel driveway on your right as you turn into Tainui Rd.
Spectators are free and we are there from 8.30am till about 4pm.

Just wonering where would i find more info on bucket racing? it seems to not go in the minimoto section. But im keen to have fun down at the track which isnt half way down the island (taupo).

I know abit about the rules etc, but just wanting to know a wee bit more about other stuff i might need to go racing.

Well, I popped out on Daisy (RZ250) for the first time in 62 days and went to see the minimotos bopping about. Was a fark load of fun, even though I was just spectatoring and then got roped into being a flag marshal!

Actually it was brilliant being out on the track and watching all sorts of lovely two wheel contraptions blatting by... huge grins and big eyes evident on all the racers!

Only had to wave my flag once when someone ran wide and laid on the track (he was okay and off like a shot again!) Only had one bin in front of me which I was concerned about - a scooter bit into the track on the tight hairpin and spat the rider off! No worries... he was up and riding again :niceone:

Insane1 was already there and chatting up the local racers, I was just glad to ogle and drool over the panoply of perambulatory machinery on offer! :drool:

Wish I coulda stayed longer, but I had a retardme auction to see to! Will be definitely coming back and bringing my own minimoto next time (when I can get the brakes to work properly!)

Hey people, was a great day yesterday. I was out there doing solo sessions on my KLX250 (motard thing) and had a heap of fun. Also had a couple of sessions on Ellen's 'Banana' bucket which was also a heap of fun, although some knee sliders would have gone a long way to getting my lap times down..

Anyhow had a wicked time and hope to see you all again soon.
