Hi there. I have a 1989 honda vtz250. Today i was riding and had to break suddenly for a amber going on red light and manage to do so safely. But when i came to a halt the bike started making a big clunking/clicking sound wich i have found out is coming from the cylinder closest to the front wheel. I managed to creep the bike home and it was running on about 2/3rds its normal power... any ideas what this may be? how i go about fixing(myself or take it into a shop?) would be much appreciated.

cheers

What's the mileage of the bike and when were the cam chains last replaced?

If its honda VT the chances are its your crank. Common problem.

Best take it to your shop and see what they say. Prepare yourself to buy a new motor/bike possibly

I don't know what Honda were thinking with the VT series, or if they all just suffer neglect :(

How long till you get your full license?
