A Croatian teenager has been arrested after taking his father’s police uniform and stop sign and using it to collect fines from motorists.

The 18-year-old from Split stopped drivers and told them they had broken traffic laws, fining them five pounds. He was arrested after a man on a motorbike refused to pay a fine and called other officers when he became suspicious.

The boy said he had taken the clothes and sign so he “could earn some pocket money”.

I'll have to say that's a new one to me. I think he should have charged a bit more as 5 pounds seems a bit low for a fine.

More to the point, how many croatians actually carry english money? Go figure.
