today i had an accident at work "poped" my thumb and bashed it a little... resulting in some soft tissue and fluid around the wrist....
it could be something to do with the effort i have to undertake to use my clutch..... is the any way i can make it softer easier for me to use?

When I got the Ducati I was astounded at the weight of the clutch - I think it's defined by the weight of the spring in the lcuthc itself which basically ain't easily adjustable without opening the engine.

In short I think you need to develop a stronger grip. Try bowling left handed f'rinstance.

Have a look and perhaps send them an email.
Might fix your problem?

To make it softer, douse it in alcohol and tell it to mow the lawns....

Oh - cLutch.... I thought you said.........

Nope. Assuming that everything's lubed proper , they are what they are. Don't ever try to ride a GT750 Suzuki. I'm told that wanking will build up the wrist muscles.

Make sure the cable is lubed and not dragging inside the sheath (eg if it's rusted or fraying).
If you can move the lever mount away from the grip so that you're grabbing the lever as far from it's pivot point as possible, that might help a bit.

There are products that reduce the force by changing the leverage:

I don't know if any shops here stock similar things.

If you don't need to use the full lever travel to disengage the clutch, those might be a good option, or you could change the leverage by making the lever at the engine end of the clutch cable longer. I did that on my bandit because I was getting a sore hand, welded an extension onto it. I'm not sure how doable it is on the marauder, I don't know what the clutch setup is like.

I don't know if it's possible to get softer springs for the clutch, but if you can those would help, but might let the clutch slip.

There is a trick that i've used on a couple of my bikes. I'm very particular about the resistance of my clutches.

The idea is to extend the actuator arm as far as possible at the same time keeping enough movement of the plates to make sure it doesn't drag..
