Ok does anyone know of a Mechanic/Race bike Guru who can transform a standard 78 GS1000 into a GS1100 Post Classic race bike... Our shop has the resources to supply the parts but in need of a mechanic who has built these things before. The customer wants the motor ported and polished and the engine blue-printed... Any help appreciated :)

Have had the name Ken Eyles brought to my attention, does anyone know if this guy is any good or knows his stuff?

'kin ell, the amount that some guys spend on their post classic racers is nothing short of astounding.

I think I best give up any idea of seeing it as a class that I could ever win in on a budget machine.

:weep:

Faaark me there's some moto-porn at that site.......now I've got a fat a cat couldn't scratch! I'm startin' to think I'm racing (chasing) in the wrong class and not just 'cos I'm talent deficient.

Anyone wanna buy a CBR1000RR race bike, I've gotta make room in the shed......

Haha, you're not wrong, every time I go to buy Honda parts I come out of the shop walkin' bow legged to ease the pain of my battered sphincter....

How's about an "exhibition" race: Stroudy on a Wes Cooley/Crosby GS1000 replica and Craig Shirriffs on a Freddie Spencer rep CB900 and Glenn Williams or Choppa on an Eddie Lawson KZ1000R.
