XT 550 head on a sr500?

Hi guys
Hey im about to undertake a sr500 do up and its requireing a cylinder head and a barrel ( the cooling fins are cracked around the sleeve).
Now i have found a xt550 head on trade me i was wondering will it work on the sr?
I know the sr xt engines a simmilar so i thought it may work.
Also does anyone have any bright ideas about wheel,tyre and suspension combos?
Im currently in england but im comin home in a couple of weeks so il put some pics up snappy.
Also if anyone has some parts they think i might like gimme a message.

The XT550 is a totally different motor. The SR500 and the XT500/TT500 use similar motors.

Cheers for the info.Any ideas on suspension? I heard that fzr 250 forks could be a option. Also does anyone know of a swingarm swap? or how to get a aftermarket one local? ive seen a nice one on the SR500 forum with fzr front and monoshock fzr rear.
I think i might just try to get a whole engine or a whole toasted bike.
