I'm seriously looking at this: (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Motorbikes/Sports/auction-205582111.htm)

Anyone with any knowledge on how much I might be looking at to fix it up, and have to running smoothly? Would be keen to do the work myself if someone could show me what to do, give me a hand or expertise.

Cheers.

Probably cheaper to buy another motor from a wrecked bike. Even though he has a spare crank, you still have main bearings, rods, pistons and rings to think about replacing while you have it apart.
I think you could find something better if you are planning to put her back on the road.

You can probably get a 2nd hand motor for $1000 which would be the easiest and cheapest

Haha. Was thinking it was a massive step up, but the price is certainly right.

By all means, bid on it.

Sounds like the needed repairs are a little beyond my capabilities at the moment. If you win thought, you gotta gimme a ride.
