India: The Delhi fire service has introduced a fleet of motorcycles equipped with basic firefighting equipment to act as rapid response units for smaller fires.
The red Royal Enfield motorcycles are fitted with ‘Watermist Backpacks’ – portable fire extinguishers containing 10 litres of water and six litres of air. The firefighting apparatus mixes the two elements when operated, reputedly spraying faster than water jets and producing a greater cooling effect to bring fires under control faster.
