Two sisters have agreed that CCTV footage of their father’s death can be used to help the police raise awareness of road safety.

Alexe and Terri Millward, of Newcastle-under-Lyme, lost father Chris as he lost control of his bike performing a wheelie at a night meeting outside a pub in Shropshire, UK. He lost control of the bike and crashed into a car on the opposite side of the road.

The short film, titled ‘Dying for a Ride?’ will be narrated by British Supersport rider Ben Wylie and will be shown at motorbike meets throughout the Summer.

Alexe, 25, said "We'll never know why he decided to do a wheelie on that night. It was just a moment of madness - not like him at all. It was an error of judgement which ended in tragedy and we don't want any other family to go through the heartbreak we've been through."

Good on them - but it doesn't sound like it would work in NZ so far. Some people need to experience death first hand to understand the finality of an error of judgment.

No doubt it will be on YouTube before long (or the bike crashes thread here).

Must be pretty hard for the daughters to watch (if they have).

and then, of course, they're dead and all, so they don't do it again.
