Dutch company EVA Products has announced a diesel-powered motorcycle capable of 100 miles to the gallon (at a steady 55mph).

Performance is there too - the Track T-800CDI has a 0-60mph time of 3.75 seconds and the inline 800cc triple may be able to run biodiesel to further reduce CO2 emissions.

The Track T-800CDI costs EUR 17,500 (some GBP 15,500 at April rates of exchange). For more information and photos: http://www.dieselmotorfiets.nl/

I like it. The black road edition is a bike I would happily ride if it rode well (it already looks good so its halfway there)

Not a chook chaser rider myself but I do like the look of it, and the theory etc is compelling.

Awesome!

So it's big news if a modern motorcycle gets 100mpg?

My 650 Triumph could get 100mpg cruising at 100kkh,and it wasn't low performance either - it had all the fruit of a cafe racer. So what has happened in 40 years that we are only just able to repeat the feat?
