A man from Phoenix, Arizona has created a solar-powered motorcycle – which he believes to be the first of its kind.

Richard Gryzch said that ‘The Solar Flyer’ can reach a top speed of 90mph (145kph) and has a range of 50 miles (80kms) off a full charge. Gryzch is keeping the technical details to himself, but did reveal that he had to sell a house to meet development costs.

Gryzch is now working on a version with a 482km (300 mile) range.

Wasn't he the man who made that race bike with Adrian Newey as the engine designer? He is very creative but lacks the venture capital

Cool, except the fact that you will ALWAYS have to plug it in. My experience with solar panels is that they are awesome.......but human consumption is not. And even at say 10kW which is and understatement of what this bikes motor would be - it would take you months to charge the battery with a 20w panel. So that you could go for a ride for an hour.
However i still think the whole idea is cool and i want one
