  2. So I guessed correctly ...

I finally stopped sulking about it all (cheered by news that I have a replacement in the pipeline) and went and had a look at my Triumph to see what happened on the main straight of Paeroa.

The first thing to do was take the fairings off so I could get to everything and locate where the problem was. Even before I'd taken a bolt out of the fairings I could see the belly pan was full of sludge (oil and coolant mixed together). This didn't surprise me because even though it didn't ...

  5. TT2000 Break: Day 9 (01/03/2012)

We wanted to be up later, but the free breakfast finishes at 9am so we set our alarms for 8.30am. A nice big bowl of cornflakes and a scone or two was a most excellent start to the day. There was no rush either, so we slacked off in our room, browsing the internet and blogging for the entire morning. I got a couple of days done, with the word count rapidly passing 9000 words for the trip. It’s clear I must lay the blame for so many words squarely at the feet of GiJoe, for without him I’d still be ...

  6. Wellington Bays

Every now and then, even Long John enjoys a short social ride (that's apart from Slow Handling Rides) and on this occasion I had to endure a very sedate pootle around the Wellington Bays.

Since the last ride was just last weekend and this week has seen some rather cool and inclement weather, the usual pre-ride protocols weren't all followed in that yesterday, I glanced at the bike since it was in the way and I had to get around it on the way to the freezer in the garage, but it didn't ...

  7. TT2000 Break: Day 8 (29/02/2012)

Wednesday morning and up at 9am, except I think Toto was awake earlier. Breakfast will be grabbed when we’ve left the accommodation (allowing more sleeping of course) at the usual bakery. We pack up, or at least I pack up while Toto repairs the mechanism on his helmet that is protesting at the amount of dust. We’re slightly over-time again, receiving a reminder, but we’re already well on the way to getting out of the room.

Toto’s (race) helmet is protesting at this gravel stuff, so ...

  8. Oh I can't wait ....

The Trumpy is most definitely dead. But that means I get to start again with something else and that's not a bad thing.

I've got something lined up and provided nothing earth shattering happens in the next week or two it's a done deal, and what a deal it is.

Looking forward to telling you more soon.
