The Lake Trip.

It took some time..............
and a few attempts...................
for some reason riding up to Lake Rotoiti was a little daunting. I've been playing in the neighbourhood for the last 6 weeks but had not got the last 25k to complete the journey.
Friday March 5, 2010. I did it. Took that extra step. It's odd, I'm only riding on more road, but to go that little bit further away from home and to be on my own was rather.....rather, scarey. I took a big breathe, a few in fact and continued passed the boundary and mad eit all the way. Had one odd moment on a corner, complete and utter blonde brain freeze! Anyone else ever had one? Not pleasant.
All good, I'm here rambling.
What a fantastic ride. Some of the road seem far too narrow for a bike let alone a car. My bike, it loves the road, I dont' like that shingle/pea gravel stuff that is left in places. Where is the road sweeper????????? Oh maybe I should take my broom with me, but I'd be sweeping not riding....the shingle gives me cause for concern, so I adjust my speed, slow down, get comfortable and then....then I push that boundary. Just to see what we (bike an' I) can do. We are doing fine. Way better than I expected, except for that brain freeze. I love that I cna ride during the week when every other bike rider is working. well pretty much and not many cars either. I have moments where it is just me out there, and when it is, I stop, fling off my helmet and breath. Then I listen to the world. It is so peaceful.
Lake Rototiti was awesome and there was some rather old, classic, sexy boats on the water having a flirt with nature. Was a pleasure to watch.
Way home...........far out!!! Long, long, long......long straight road with nothing on it!!!!!!!!!!
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....stiff nipples
