    Hi there everyone, I'm Alex.

This here is my CB750, I picked it up of Trademe last week and started tweaking a bit. Dropped the apes on today and just picked-up a fuel tank of a Zundapp so we'll see how that looks hie hie.

There's crap loads to do still and i cant weld so THATS possing some problems hie hie. Any suggestions and comments most welcome. Id love to learn a bit more about bike mechanics and fabrication etc So willing to put in some elbow grease if anyone needs a hand and willing to let me learn offa ya. Im an artist and video editor and programmer of all things by trade.

Bought her as a running and rode her him, WOF was failed for smooth front tire and a leak fork seal. Best was the $900 price tag so no complaints at all. Got a funky little 'backfire' and a reallly painfully tight clutch but no idea what thats all about, will see what the manual says hie hie. I just did the exhaust headers, whoel day with a flapper wheel and a rotary air tool to remove the crud then a coat of silver anti rust paint. Going to wrap the headers with black exhaust bandage when all done.

This is what the headers looked like when i took em off. Would have been nice to re-chrome but the wrap looks old school

this has got to be the best first thread by a new member!

    that thing looks mint!
for the stiff clutch, other than a sticky cable (clean and lubricate) i would look at the clutch springs (may be aftermarket heavy duty type)
backfire, could be many things but clean carbs and adjusted valves are a good starting point

yeah, look up surfers profile for some inspiration but be careful not to get carried away and loose your shocks

hie hie Im on the rattlers pages there yeah, nice crowd of people. Dont think ill be putting in struts instead of shocks (yet) my back is stuffed from years leaning over a gawddang keyboard, well that and a few roadrash incidents, and exwife on my back hie hie Also added that the picture isnt close up so it doesnt really show the ugly bits, theres some rust on that frame and the top of the gearbox the paints comign off from fuel thats leaked there. (another thing i gotta tackle hopefully wont have to rip the whole bloody engine out but probably will end up to clean up the frame sigh) Thx for the headsup on the cluth there. I used ot have an old GL goldwing that did the same bloody thing, used to KILL my bloody wrists im determined to sort it on the CB though hie hie Im getting to fckgin old for a workout while I tide LOL
