Built in 2001/2 to compete in the National Association of Supertwins (UK) competition series in the “Top Gas” Class. Best time 10.4 @ 127mph. Bought to NZ by owner in 2010. Currently running in NZDRA “B” Drag Bike class.

Chassis built by Al of Nottingham Custom Cycles (UK) – cro-moly steel tube, tig welded
Front end – Honda forks, 17” wheel and disc brake, Grimeca caliper, Michelin slick tyre.
Rear – RC Comp wheel, 25/7.0 x 18 Mickey Thomson slick, Kawasaki disc and caliper.
Motor and gearbox – 1997 Honda VTR1000 Firestorm, 44mm Lectron flatslide carburetors, 2° ignition advance, lock-up clutch by GLS Engineering – otherwise stock.
Shifter system – electric over air, up-shifts only, electronic ignition cut out for clutchless shifts
Bodywork – plastic nose cone, fiberglass seat/guard
Electronics – stock ignition unit, CBR600 coils, SPA Shift light/rev counter
    Wheelie bar

    Spares:
    Motor/gearbox – 2000 VTR1000
    Stock carburettors
    Stock ignition coils
    Sprockets
    Air shift pneumatics
    Bodywork mould
Eaton M45 Supercharger (ex BMW Mini) with 1.75” SU Carburettor
    Stock Ignition sensor

I am giving up racing and so would prefer to sell everything in one go, but may be prepared to split if sufficient interest.
    Whole lot - $10k o.n.o.
    Bike only - $6k
Possibly consider swap for 800cc+ cruiser style road bike + cash my way.

Better and faster than one of those Harley bikes put out for drag racing

Went to Meremere bike day last year and they had 4-5 of the Harley dragsters racing. I don't think one of them got under 13 seconds, certainly not under 12 seconds. Strange but not one of them there this year?

Yes they are capable of sub 10 seconds but a lot of work is required from what you buy off the shop floor.

Thank you again for the red rep and abuse.

Not specifically - it was a work in progress that got delayed by my move back to NZ

How much were you thinking for the complete motor?

No need to thank me, I like to think of it as doing a community service.

Fucking bollocks. A V-Rod Destroyer will run sub 10 sec 1/4's with a 1/2 trained monkey on it. I also have a mate with a 120R Fatbob (all 320kgs of it) that he's put down the strip at 10.2 at his first ever drag meet as well. Soon as he learns how to launch the thing he'll do nines on it. A mildly tuned VTR1000 will get it's beans against such bikes.

Thanks for your interest - I'd like to have a decent try at moving the whole lot before I start selling off bits and pieces.
