I'm running an auction on Trademe see http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...?id=1087603356
No reserve -
2 stroke Dual purpose
This was one of the last road legal 2 stoke dual purpose bikes out of Japan. Only 12 were sold new In NZ. However parts are easy to get as they were mass-produced and sold well in Australia & Asia.
Loads of power for a 230 - MUCH quicker than other 4 stroke Dual purpose 250 - 300's

6 speed - This bike is geared low but with better gearing will cruise all day at 100kph
Dry Weight: 121Kg
Oil Tank: 1.3 Litre (Auto fuel/oil mixing)
Fuel Tank: 11.0 Litre

This bike doesn't have a plate but can be made road legal. The wiring harness is in place but indicators, horn and mirror will need to be replaced. All the wires and brackets are in place.

I bought this bike 8 months ago with the intention of restoring it to new condition, but I'm not going to have the time or garage space for the next 2-3 years.

The motor is running well. Starts easy via kick. The Starter motor is engaging but not turning. Apart from this everything else appears to be working. Its appearance could do with some love, as expected for a 2001 bike. Iv just changed oil and water & Cleaned the air filter.
The plastics are scratched, these bikes came out with painted plastic and can be repainted. The frame around the pegs and rear guard frame could also do with a paint as well. Comes with a new seat cover (not fitted see pic) Will also install new clutch cable this week (existing is past it)

I can deliver to the CBD's in Kerikeri, Whangarei, Auckland CBD for $50. For other areas you will need to get a quote, I can recommend http://motorcyclemovers.co.nz/ - Quotes can be arranged via an Auckland pick up.

Viewing can be arranged at One tree point, Bream bay.

Iv owned a number of DTs in the past and they are great bikes, Id really like to see this bike go to someone who will restore it and look after it.http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...?id=1087603356
