    Rare Katana 250 for sale!

    1992 Suzuki GSX250S Katana

My little Katana 250 has Done 60,000k's and has her scrapes and other little charms, but for a 92', *two year production only* bike, she is in fabulous shape!!
These little 250cc inline 4 engines last 100's of thousands of k's if they're treated right (like this one), and she sings, redlining at 15,500rpm!!!!!

    WOF'D AND REG'D
Ridden nearly everyday for the last 4 years all weather and has been an awesome bike to learn on (being the same frame size as the 750, it sets you up to be able to handle bigger bikes easily)

I have recently replaced the sprockets, chain, spark plugs, coils, CDI and rev counter/speedo dash. The bike has been regularly serviced, last was around 2000km ago when I replaced the oil and oil filter. both front and rear sprockets and a new DID o-ring chain were installed roughly 5,000 kms ago
I don't have receipts for the work or the parts as it was all done by myself using second hand (wreckers) parts and my own labour
*Except from the new chain and sprockets* (I can try find those receipts)
I have ALL of the wof sheets and rego stickers etc. that I have acquired since taking ownership in April 2010
    Has had New ..
    Twin filament Halogen Headlight
    lamp 30
    Speedo cable 30
    Indicator Flasher unit 35
    Ht Plugs 65
    Coil 60
    Cdi 350
    Rev & Speedo Dash 320
Upgraded with SHOWA rear Shocks 250
    Chain 120
    Sprockets 110
    Throttle cables 80
Will come with Over $700 worth of Spare bits like the spare Forks and the Old dash unit (has broken dial hands hence replacement) and a spare seat..
I have Just Cleaned out, and balanced the carbs but, like most imports, it could still benefit from a final tune.
I will clean the bike as these photos were taken while it's dirty

With rarity in mind I was looking for around 3.6k but I understand the age and the little cosmetic things do drop the price so I am open to all reasonable offers just ask. I am looking to sell to fund my 78' mk2 escort
This is an Extremely rare bike and is one of only two I have ever seen in person.
The bike is open for viewing in Beach Haven.
    Cheers, Kyle

Haha yep, me and my all-knowingness..

I only say that as I've always been on the lookout for them and there are only a few road legal left hanging around, popping up every now and then for sale, and I've been in contact with most of their nth island owners, they're nice bikes and a shame there's hardly any on the road :L

Anyway I Don't mean to come off as a know all, just sharing my story
    Cheers, Kyle

    3000ono and less kms.
    Noticed it earlier tonight.
I like the look of the Katana 250s
Probably buy one to learn on if I was starting from the beginning again.

I think you might be looking at 2.6-3k as a going to sell figure.

There are four I know of here in Paradise.

Hardly Rare (rare implies extra value) ... just a big bike with a small engine. It's similarity (apart from its rims) to the original 1100 Katana is it's (only) selling point ...

Each to their own I guess, I always thought rare to mean hard to come by?

Eitherway, it's no less of a bike than bandits/gixxers/cbrs/VTRs etc. and I'm only asking the same price as they're listed for, it's not like I'm playing on that as a reason to sell it at an extortionate price.. If it seems that way, I apologise and kindly suggest that if you aren't interested in the bike that you refrain from procrastinating and find something else to enjoy rather than heckling..
In any case I appreciate the input and I hope you Have a nice day

They are NOT hard to come by. YOU just haven't seen many. They do look good and go well. And are often sold without being advertised. (Or listed on Trademe)

Be wary of "Listed values" ... people usually want/ask what THEY paid ... 20,000 km's (or more) ago ...

You are correct ... I am not interested in buying your bike. And I enjoy Procrastinating ... and heckling ... and for that I offer NO apology.

Good luck with the sale ... and you shouldn't have much problem selling it. But With the LAM's scheme ... bigger bikes (for the same or less money) it may seem overpriced for a 250 to some.

Cool - normally I'd bitch and moan about the only real Katana being the first 1100. But that 250 is neat.

Ironicaly the concept design was a 650 if I remember correctly.
