    Rare RVF400 for sale

    Hey all.

    Looking to sell my lovely RVF if the right offer came along. I have owned her for about 3 years, fully maintained. My previous service (300Km's ago) had the following;

    - All new oils (incl brake, coolant)
    - New brake pads (front + rear)
    - Rear brake master cylinder
    - New rear tire
    - New plugs, new air filter
    - Carb balance checked (the carbs were serviced a year ago with all new O-rings, carb boots etc)
    - New battery

I purchased, had painted and installed the Tyga Performance tail, keeping the scheme in-line with the original colors. I also have the sub-frame and original fairing's stored to go with the bike. Has a carbon fibre end can, and HRC CDI (both of which I assume were installed in Japan).

So well looked after, V4 goodness (they sound amazing), and of course LAMS approved!! Only considering sale to move in to something bigger. Looking for offers around $8K. Will be listing on trademe within the next day or two. Cheers

    * Update. Some analy retentive members are saying that the carbon fibre exhaust will make it not compliant to LAMS. So if you are looking to buy an RVF on a learners or restricted license, you may need to find an original slip on muffler.

Looks like you have an aftermarket exhaust system, at least the rear section is, can't tell the front from those photos.

Nice bike, I've been having thoughts of selling mine recently.

Thanks. The exhaust was Sansei most likely when I researched it, imported from Japan mechanically as it is, including the hrc cdi. Still 50/50 over selling it!

Hard to say. Great bikes with a cult reputation for brilliance. Seems like a fortune to me but they are rare and if it is a minter, it might achieve this price.

If you modify your motorcycle, it may not be approved

Any motorcycle modified in a way that increases its power-to-weight ratio is no longer LAMS-compliant, regardless of whether it appears on the list.

If you are a rider on a learner or restricted motorcycle licence, it is your responsibility to ensure you are riding a LAMS-approved motorcycle, as produced by the manufacturer. If in doubt, seek confirmation from the manufacturer's agent or dealership. If you are unsure who to contact, details for all major motorcycle importers are available on the Motor Industry Association website (external link).

If you don't follow these rules you may end up with fines and demerit points.

The pipe and CDI was original from Japan. I haven't modified it.
And the testing guys had no issue with the bike when I sat my license

Doesn't matter. That's his mistake. It's not LAMS compliant unless the ignition and exhaust are 100% original.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

    Insurers might look into it.

Doesn't matter who modified it. What have the testing guys got to do with it? Are they enforcing LAMs rules now?

If the SCU or your insurer should need to take a look for some unfortunate reason, they might.

You're selling this as a LAMS bike when clearly it isn't, and as of this morning you well know it.

Yes - the testing guys do enforce the LAMS rules. They check your bike for WOF, rego, all lights, L plate etc.
