I thought I'd seen it all

Needed a bit of a cobweb blow-out today. Made it to midday staring moodily at the rain and decided, to hell with it. Togged up in super-warmies, all covered from head to foot with my totally dry flouros, I'm off South.

Over the Bombays it was really pissing down. Add truck-wheel wash and it was like riding in a snow-storm. I decided the Thames/motorway overpass would be my first stop (underneath). My very wise opinion was being shared by a bike-cop; most uncop-like having a fag. I pulled alongside, said hello and pulled out my own fags.

We yakked for a few minutes. He races cages and is looking forward to Hampton Downs opening.

Anyway, the deluge was still deluging when out of the gloom comes some dude, blatting long on a...? couldn't tell the make, L-plate vivid, but! wearing an open-face helmet and no glasses, a light parka atop shorts. But the real eye-opener was his safety boots. Yup. Jandals.

    I said, 'Bugger me!'

Cop said, 'I think I might go have a chat,' snapped down his visor and was gone.

Geez but they breed bikers tough in the Waikato, Aye.

I've never seen a cop's mouth drop open, but this one's did.

Then I got to the Hamilton by-pass. Stopped right next to a dude in a shiny 4WD cage. Remember I'm in head-to-foot flouros. He decided to change lanes and thought better of completing the move when my right-hand handle-bar counter-weight started to dig into his left front door.

You never guess what he said. Yup, 'Sorry Mate. I just didn't see you!'

Apart from that twas a great ride, if not a bit wet at times.:--))

It is my absolute pleasure RM. Would you like to also know the size of my dump, this morning, and what I'm having for dinner tonight?

Yeah. That was much my reaction. On the way back I saw another dude pootling along on a small, looked near new, Beamer. He was wearing cut-off jeans and Crocs. Seemed happy enough. Mad bastard.

Anyway. I just spotted your byline. I'm in need of some plastics rejuvenation. You in Auckland?

What did he do with his fag? Let him go or give him to you? On second thoughts, I don't want to know.
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!

I am a well known proponent of ATGATT as most of you will know. I have been educated about personal choice and dont condemn them that choose to not follow my philosophy. I have even learned to not say a single thing about fully leathered up blokes riding with their chicks on the back in mini skirts and high heels, each to their own and all that. But...

Today I saw something that actually made me rush cold all over. It was not warm up our way today, not freezing cold, but chilly. It was also wet (read really wet at times, though we did get some great dry spells). Sitting at the Puhoi having lunch with some friends and a couple of bikes pull up. One of them had a small child (maybe 8 or 9) on the back and all I saw were these tiny, little, white, bare ankles. Kid hops off, jeans, sneakers and a yellow plastic rain coat.

While it is your personal choice what you wear on your bike, and if you are prepared to take an adult pillion that is less than well covered it is your business, what the hell makes you think it is ok to take a little kid on a bike, on a day, like today dressed like that?

The rider of this bike was fully leathered up, and all that was on display of this little kid was his tiny, little ankles. Criminal stuff that for me

Hey Mom, I know what you mean, it is the height of ignorance and arrogance to assume that their poor bloody children will be OK totally unprotected while they are togged up fully.
Seems most all KBer's were out today, we went south, others went east and west, the general concensus was that the weather was arss! and the roads were bloody slippery, but hey no one crapped out, so we must all be great wet weather riders.LOL.
Every day above ground is a good day!:

It's difficult to burn the scum in the rain.

It's why I always carry accelerant.

    Always.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
