    Sounds good, count me in.

Looking like it might be a bit damp (guessing drizzle not showers). I'm still going so I'll see those that are waterproof at the Peg at 9am. So far I make a total of 9 of us.

    Cheers R

Make that 11 then, Ian and myself will be there.
For those that are keen, on the way back are thinking of going down Waipara River to the coast then down to Kowhai river and back to SH1
    We'll see how we go.

That was a great way to spent the day. Pity about the wind but the views from the top on Random Spur were great. Will try to catch you guys on the next ride.

    That was a breeze....

...well, no, more like an all out gale actually.

But great fun. Thanks Guys. Good to meet you lot!

Sigh! I tend to like my adventures with much more rest stops, pauses to contemplate the scenery, and occasionally... I lie back in the soft grass with a glove over my eyes.... and let the Big Warm Sleepy Light tease the snoring noises out of me.

Too much riding and I start making dumb mistakes.

Anyhow, that was a great route... next time I try it I think I'll pack a tent and a sleeping bag and a take an extra day or two about it.

Ha! Next time CooneyR says he's going on a random spur rd, I'll realize he is being literal. That wasn't just a random spur with a road on it, it did indeed have a signpost "random spur rd" pointing along it!

Alas, I bought a big fat camera a few years back... and I haven't worked out how to carry the thing in a vibration / fall proof fashion. The scenery was magnificent!

ps: Thanks for the nut & bolt holding my number plate TransAlp! (If you want it back, just say!)

Again, Thanks! That was Good Fun!

    Good day out guys,
Cynna and I had a great ride home thru Pyramid Valley to Lees Valley, via you know where. Managed to miss the rain and then blasted home via South side of Waimak 410km in total and home by 1800.
Thanks to thepom for the entertainment you're welcome to come along anytime!
