Yeah, the largest rim you should fit a 180 to is a 5.5 inch. A six would definitly stretch a 180 out.
Funny that nobody told Aprilia that? The factory spec is for 180/55 on a 6" rim.

Hitcher, I'd be interested to read how the change affects things, if at all?

Better profile for most rear tyres, compared with a 180/55 on a 6" rim. I'd also like to maximise my contact patch at more extreme lean angles. My various rear tyres on the Shiver have never had chicken strips on them. I'm thinking that that can't be a good thing.
First rally last weekend , noticed the 180/55 very sharp in the steering compared to the 190/50, just look at the corners and bike falls into them. similar thoughts to you hitcher, only one ride and no chicken strips, see what i think after a few thousand k's thru.

it's always hard to change a tyre brand from one you know to one you don't know. Specially at the price they are...
Now that I'm older, I thought it was great that I seemed to have more patience. Turns out I just don't give a shit...

Bump for interests sake. Would like to hear more now that these have been out for a bit.

Oh, and Shaun I certainly hope they're better than the Motion.

Just got back from 5,000km of South Island bliss and my PR2's are at 11,000km with at least another 1,000 in them. My mate (Connie 14 as well) had Angels on for this ride and is most impressed with them. We had major rain on Akaroa & out to Milford and back and he thought they were great in the wet. I'll be trying some in approx 1,000km...

Happy with mine, the wear appears good, I am not a fast rider and am happy to have chicken strips but these certainly have been confidant enough reduce the size of mine from normal.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.
